Summers in Pitman are bookended by two events: The Fourth of July Parade, and the Highland Quality Carnival (Labor Day). Signs for the Labor Day carnival are out, and we’re reminded that it will soon be time for our kids to go back to school.
Kids, teachers, and everyone involved in our school system are all engaged in an important mission. But important missions are usually met with obstacles. Obstacles are best met with prayer.
So the Churches in Pitman are getting together to pray for the upcoming school year. The First Baptist Church of Pitman recently assembled and distributed backpacks filled with school supplies. All of us are going to gather on the First Baptist Church lawn to pray for the recipients of those backpacks and for all who are about to start the new school year.
