Boy Scouts…

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. Pitman United Methodist Church is the chartering organization for Troop 55 and Pack 218.  An active leadership group and troop committee adults support the Scout program that meets Monday evenings during the school year from 7:00-8:30 PM. The troop encourages boys to advance in rank through the completion of merit badges, leadership, and service and to date,67 boys have earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Active CUB Scout dens and pack (Pack 218)  also meet on Monday nights. For more information, contact the staff representative via Garden State Council, Riggins Scout Resource Center, 856- 327-1700.

 Girl Scouts…

Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) is the largest organization for girls in the world. Our mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Through activities in science and technology, business and economic literacy, and outdoor and environmental awareness, Girl Scouting provides girls with opportunities for fun and friendship while fostering the development of leadership skills and self-esteem. Although at other times, troops of several of the program levels have met at Pitman United Methodist Church, currently one troop meets one afternoon a week during this school year. For more information, contact the staff representative for the Tri-Sisters area via Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey, 856-795-1560.

    Hi-

I was a Cub Scout when I was a kid and we often did service projects. I recently started playing disc golf at Alcyon Park and thought it would be a great service project for a Cub Scout Pack to keep clean/recycle, while also introducing kids to a fun and easy sport. Just a thought!

Hi, I am not sure if I am at the correct site. I am interested in getting my 7yo involved with boy scouts. If this is the site could you please provide me with info regarding registration? Thank you!

The scouts haven’t been meeting in our building because of the pandemic, but I believe they are going to resume soon (and maybe they have already). Thanks for your interest! Yes- this is the right site for the troop that meets in our church.

I’ll find out for you and post an answer here (I’m the webmaster of this site). Thanks again for checking this out

        Michelle-
The scouts won’t resume meetings in our building until September, but maybe they’re doing other activities during the summer. I’ll email you further details and contact info for the scout master. Thanks again!
