BLAST- Youth Groups

Big Loud Awesome Spiritual Time

BLAST is our way of saying “United Methodist Youth Fellowship”.  The name says that we want to have a blast… in more ways than one.

Youth Director- Kate Dilks

BLAST regularly meets between 6:00 and 8:00 PM on Sunday evenings (between mid-September and June).  When we meet, we separate Jr and Sr highs for devotions, but we get the groups back together for activities and fun. We always end the night with a snack provided by one of our parents, too!

Any youth between sixth and twelfth grade are invited to come to all BLAST activities.

Some things to look forward to throughout the year  include, “Gop and Goo” Night, our very own trunk for Trunk or Treat, a “Minute to Win it” Christmas Party, a progressive dinner, our weekend trip to Mid-Winter Advance, mission projects, and much, much more. Come check us out!!!

Keep in touch with the Church Website for announcements on upcoming events (click the “News” button on the bottom of this page).

As the school year approaches, sometimes anxieties and pressures may come to mind. Will I like my teachers? Will my friends and I have the same classes? How will I find time to get everything done? But can we pause for a moment? In Psalms 147, King David exclaims "He renews our hopes and heals our bodies. He decided how many stars there would be in the sky and gave each one a name." As Charles Spurgeon writes, let's think of this stark contrast, our Heavenly Father designs and cares for each of our hopes and wounds, while also naming and holding each star in the sky. Only our Father's infinite love and compassion can fill that space between the Heavens and the Earth. If God has such an intimate acquaintance with each star, think of the awe and wonder we would live in, when we trust Him to supply each friend, each teacher, each class, each minute. As the latest skillet single praises, "if You can hold the stars in place, You can hold my heart the same." The next time we feel worried or fearful, let's pause and look up to the One who holds the stars. 🌟✨💫 Interested in the eclipse? Check out Rowan's eclipse celebration from 1 to 4 PM on Monday! B.L.A.S.T. returned from another awesome week at Malaga Camp! "His love makes no sense.
I turned to the woman next to me (who later would become a new friend) and cried, “Why does Jesus love me so much? I don’t deserve it!!!”
She said, “Because that’s just who He is.”
That’s just who God is. That’s just who He is. God is love. God gives love to those who don’t even deserve it, because that’s who He is. He loves no matter who you are, what you’ve done, what you can’t or can do. He loves no matter what job you have, where you’re from, whether you’re Christian or not Christian. God loves…me. God loves…you. God loves because that’s just who He is." - Kayla, a beautiful addition to our Malaga Camp Middler staff. #middlersenior17
