The Interpreter was a bi-monthly publication of the United Methodist Church, but it was discontinued at the end of 2017.  It was replaced by the “United Methodist Now” newsletter (see below).  Archived editions of the Interpreter Magazine are available: Interpreter Magazine.

 

United Methodist Now

This bi-weekly “e-Newsletter” provides 3-4 feature articles about our lives as United Methodists.  Recent issues discussed the symbolism we use in Easter (along with a quiz!), Methodist Women Who Made History, and a series on Grace (one issue each for Prevenient Grace, Justifying Grace, and Sanctifying Grace).   Did you know that Elvis recorded his earliest hits in a building shared shared with the Methodist Church’s Television, Radio and Film Commission?  This is an example of some of the interesting stories in the United Methodist Now newsletter.

This digest is sent “as needed.”  Typically you’ll get an email once every 3-7 days.  The GNJ Digest contains information specifically for our Conference, and originates with the Conference office in Nutley.

Our District Superintendent regularly sends out an email message informing clergy and laity of training, worship and mission events happening in our area.   When the message lands in your inbox, the subject is entitled: “Upcoming News and Events.”  The email usually opens with a short devotion, and then lists events sponsored by the Conference and by local churches.  These messages are sent once a week.
