PUMC Choir c Mar13_2014600x400The Voices in Praise Choir completed its 2013 – 2014 choir season this Sunday with a rendition of “O Glorious Day.”

Rehearsals started back in September, and we were in the loft and singing anthems during most of the 42 Sundays between September and this past Sunday (July 6).

The Year in Review…

Choir Kathryn Pepe 2013-12-01 _1291During this year, we sang three cantatas. Our usual Christmas cantata was on December 22, and it was entitled “A Festival of Carols.”  We sang (surprise, surprise) a collection of familiar Christmas carols.  On Palm Sunday (April 13) we presented another musical service entitled “Amazing Grace: Past, Present, and Future.”  And more recently, on June 22, we presented another collection of hymns and “choir favorites” during both services.  This was entitled “He’s Always Been Faithful.”

Choir Fellowship Hall _N0804The choir also sang at some special events such as the celebration of ministries dinner in the Fall, and the farewell to Pastor Larry and Pastor Kee a few weeks ago.

During the summer, the choir will take a break and the music will be led by the Praise Team and other “special music” guests.

See ya Next Year…

Rehearsals for the 2014-2015 season will begin in September; keep an eye on the website or bulletin.  If you’re interested in joining our “musical family,” contact our director of music Sue Crispin.
