Thread & Yarn Groups Reach Out with Warm Hugs (11/10/19)

One of the unique ministries at PUMC is our “Thread and Yarn” groups.  We have two groups crafting warm items to be given to anyone who needs them.  Hooks and Needles makes items with yarn, and Scrappy Quilters quilts blankets.

On Generosity Sunday (Sunday November 10, 2019), a collection of their latest creations was dedicated on the altar during our worship service….

Thread and Yarn Ministries…

Do you know someone who might be comforted by a prayer shawl, a lap blanket, or an afghan?  All of these items are available to you at no cost.  Help the Hooks and Needles group and the Scrappy Quilters spread God’s love to anyone you know who is experiencing a health problem, loss of a loved one, a family crisis, or simply needs to know that someone cares.  Just contact the church office.

Or perhaps you sew, knit, or crochet, or maybe you would like to learn one of these skills.  Please come out and join us.  The quilters meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 1:00 – 3:00.  Hooks and Needles group meets every Monday from 1:00 – 3:00.  Both groups meet on the second floor in the education wing and are open to anyone who is interested, whether they attend PUMC or not.  Won’t you help us spread God’s love?
