Women Suplement Summer Lunches (6/2019)

Posted by on Jun 6, 2019 in EventAnnouncement, Mission: AroundTowns, UMW | 0 comments

The United Methodist Women are collecting toiletries that will be offered to Pitman residents as part of the First Presbyterian Church’s Summer Lunch Program. This is an excellent ministry where lunches are provided to children in the school district who may otherwise not have enough access to food during the summer when school is out.

To help the summer food situation that many families experience, Food Stamps (“SNAP”) can be used.  However, Food Stamps can’t be used for many other items which are also essential.  So the United Methodist Women are doing something about it.

Toiletries donated by PUMC will be available to families when they pick up their food each week. Needs include things like:

  • full-size toothpaste, toothbrushes
  • shampoo, soap
  • deodorant, razors
  • toilet paper
  • feminine hygiene products
  • sunscreen, bug spray

Please put your donations in the bin in the Narthex.  Donations will be accepted until 16 June (Father’s Day).
