Red Cross Blood Drive to Visit PUMC (1/25/19)

On Friday January 25, the Red Cross will hold a Blood Drive in our Fellowship Hall from 2:00-7:00 PM.

Walk-ins are welcome, but you can visit the American Red Cross website to schedule a time.  We’ve set a goal to have at least 60 donors.

(Scroll down for the link and instructions)…

In addition to the knowledge that you’re helping others (and maybe even saving a life!), your donation will also “earn” you a coupon to receive a gift from Dunkin’…

The donation changes throughout the day, so please check their schedule to confirm eligibility. During some hours they will collect “blood”. During others, they will collect “Power Red.”

Here’s how these are defined (on the Red Cross website):

  • Blood:
The most common type of donation, during which approximately a pint of ‘whole blood’ is given. This type of blood donation usually takes about an hour.
  • Power Red:
A Power Red donation collects the red cells but returns most of the plasma and platelets to the donor. These donors must meet specific eligibility requirements and have type A Neg, B Neg, or O blood.

For more information (or to register), visit the American Red Cross website: Red Cross
