His Love Makes no Sense!

Members of our BLAST Youth group recently returned from a week at Malaga Camp.  The theme of the week was God’s love.  How can God send His Son to dies for us and continue to love us even when we keep on rejecting Him and breaking away to do our own thing?

One of the people attending the camp wrote the following…

“His love makes no sense.”

I turned to the woman next to me (who later would become a new friend) and cried, “Why does Jesus love me so much? I don’t deserve it!!!”

She said, “Because that’s just who He is.”

That’s just who God is. That’s just who He is. God is love.

God gives love to those who don’t even deserve it, because that’s who He is. He loves no matter who you are, what you’ve done, what you can’t or can do. He loves no matter what job you have, where you’re from, whether you’re Christian or not Christian.

God loves… me.   God loves… you.

God loves because that’s just who He is.

That’s just who He is…

The Apostle John put it this way:

7 Dear friends, let us practice loving each other, for love comes from God and those who are loving and kind show that they are the children of God, and that they are getting to know him better.  But if a person isn’t loving and kind, it shows that he doesn’t know God—for God is love.

9 God showed how much he loved us by sending his only Son into this wicked world to bring to us eternal life through his death.  In this act we see what real love is: it is not our love for God but his love for us when he sent his Son to satisfy God’s anger against our sins.

1 John 4:7-9
