Our Fathers House Graduates Class of 2017! (5/25/17)

Several Septembers ago, a journey began.  One thing about kids is that they keep growing up; all too quickly the little babies in a stroller turn into toddlers who resemble young men and women more and more each day.   And so, we cherish the milestones.

For many parents, one leg of the journey began 2-3 years ago when they enrolled their child into the Our Father’s House Preschool.  On the morning of 5/25/17, a milestone was set as these kids completed the nurturing of our preschool and grew into boys and girls who were prepared to enter public school.

And so, we celebrated the graduation of our Pre-K kids with a program of music.  The music gave the parents, grandparents, and PUMC friends in attendance a glimpse of what the children have been learning this year.  The kids sang songs honoring country, demonstrating elementary skills, and glorifying child-like relationships with God.

After the ceremony (in which 38 pre-K children graduated), the celebration continued in the Fellowship Hall with picnic lunches and deserts.

Here are a few members of the Our Father’s House Team…

But the real stars were the kids…

The ceremony opened with a rendition of God Bless America.  Not exactly Kate Smith, but the energy and enthusiasm from these kids is even more powerful than the Stanley cup (you have to be a Philadelphia Flyers fan to understand the Kate Smith reference…).
